Tucson At Its Best
Our most popular tour of Tucson begins in front of the Arizona Historical Society (949 E. 2nd St.), then continues on to "Old Main" and the University of Arizona, Presidio San Agustin del Tucson (a Spanish fort founded in 1775), the historic Train Depot (where Wyatt Earp and "Doc" Holliday gunned down Frank Stilwell), Hotel Congress (gangster John Dillinger was captured here), Sentinel Peak ("A" Mountain, where Tucson was born), Mission San Xavier del Bac and your choice of either Old Tucson theme park and film studios or the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Price for the all-day tour, which includes taxes and admission to all venues, is $139 for adults and $129 for children 12 and under.
If you've never been to Tucson before, or are only in town for a short time, this tour of Tucson is for you. It really is Tucson At Its Best.
The morning portion of our "Tucson At Its Best Tour," including the University of Arizona, Presidio San Agustin del Tucson (a Spanish fort founded in 1775), the Railroad Station (where Wyatt Earp and "Doc" Holliday gunned down Frank Stilwell), Hotel Congress (gangster John Dillinger was captured here), Sentinel Peak ("A" Mountain, where Tucson was born) and Mission San Xavier del Bac. Bisbee and Tombstone: We depart Tucson at 8:00 a.m. and arrive Bisbee, a late 1800's Victorian mining town turned modern-day artists' colony, for a 10:30 tour of the Queen Mine--the most profitable mine in the world at the time. After the tour, we'll briefly drive through town admiring the sites and architecture and then make our way to Tombstone, the most famous town of the Old West. Folks stroll Main St. (Allen Street) at their leisure, eat lunch, shop, sight-see, stay out of gun fights, and/or visit the Birdcage Theater before meeting the van at the opposite end of the street at 3:30 p.m. After a brief stop at Boot Hill Cemetery, we head out of town. We return to Tucson at approximately 5:30 p.m. Costs are $149 (includes taxes) for adults, and $139 (includes taxes) for kids 12 and under and includes admission to the Queen Mine tour.
Variations of this tour can combine a tour of Kartchner Caverns, but requires a paid-in-advance, two-week prior reservation, owing to the strict visitor limitations of the Caverns. Costs for the combined Tombstone/Kartchner Caverns tour are $149 (includes taxes) for adults and $139 (includes taxes) for kids 12 and under.
